Starfield employee number discovered to spell "SENTINEL"
A Reddit user discovered a potential Elder Scrolls VI Easter egg hidden in Starfield's character creation screen. The employee number shown during character creation reads "190514-2009140512." When separated into pairs — 19, 05, 14, 20, 09, 14, 05, 12 — and converted using each number's corresponding position in the alphabet, the sequence spells SENTINEL. The same employee number appeared during the 2023 Starfield Direct and remains visible in the final game, meaning the potential clue had been publicly visible for more than three years before being noticed. The discovery drew immediate attention following Xbox CEO Asha Sharma and Bethesda Game Studios' use of exactly eight asterisks when referring to TESVI one day earlier. "Sentinel" contains eight letters and is also the name of a major city and kingdom in Hammerfell, making the discovery particularly notable amid longstanding speculation that Hammerfell will be the setting of The Elder Scrolls VI. There has been no confirmation from Bethesda that the employee number was intentionally placed as a TESVI tease or that "Sentinel" is the game's title.
